Lawmaker to Meet with International Leaders at World Economic Forum on the Middle East

Detroit, MI — Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick (D-Michigan) will attend the World Economic Forum on the Middle East with six other Members of Congress.

Congresswoman Kilpatrick is a member of the House Appropriations Foreign Operations Subcommittee, which funds foreign assistance programs worldwide. Members will meet with Middle East Heads of State and other leaders to discuss United States programs and policies that promote business relationships, economic growth, and democracy.

The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional, and industry agendas.

“The goal of the trip is to enhance international relations and meet with leaders in the Middle East. We will learn about emerging opportunities and explore challenges facing the region,” said Congresswoman Kilpatrick. “I am confident that our participation in the World Economic Forum will assist us with our decision making as we return to our responsibilities in the Appropriations process.”
