As your representative here in Congress, I feel that one of my responsibilities is to make sure that you benefit from all of the resources available to our nation’s citizens. We have all complained that government does not work--there are times when it doesn’t--but there are also times when it works remarkably well. That usually occurs when we know how to use it properly. I have selected my staff to ensure that you are efficiently guided through, the sometimes, cumbersome government processes and get those services to which you are entitled. I have asked my staff to prepare a few guidelines to help you maximize the resources of the federal government through the use of my office. In most cases, where we are requested to intervene, a Privacy Act form is required. It gives our office the permission to look at the records of your particular case. This form includes your name, address, telephone number and Social number. We also ask you to put a brief synopsis of your problem in writing and identify your specific request from our office.
