BELTSVILLE, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) today dedicated a new 28,100 square foot poultry facility at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC). The new facility will be both a production and hatchery building. It will replace about a dozen old buildings built in the 1930’s that are in poor condition and obsolete.

Hoyer (D-MD), a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee and the only member from Maryland, announced that the House of Representatives today passed the Fiscal Year 2007 Energy and Water Appropriations Bill which included $15.4 million for Baltimore Harbor maintenance dredging and $13.1 million for the Poplar Island Project.
