WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Bill Jenkins said this week that a federal grant and loan have been approved for use by the John M. Reed Home for the Aged.

        Jenkins said Rural Development, U. S .Department of Agriculture, has approved a grant of $15,000 and a loan of $170,000 for the nursing home located in Washington County. Richard Donoho is president.

        Jenkins said Rural Development funds will be used to install a sprinkler system to the older portion of the facility, for roof repairs and to update the kitchen and storage areas.

    The $170,000 loan carries an interest rate of 4.25 percent for a term of 25 years.
