WASHINGTON, D.C.—Congressman Bill Jenkins said Wednesday that The Birthplace of Country Music Alliance located in Bristol has been awarded a $10,000 grant.

Jenkins said the funding is provided by the National Endowment for the Arts under its FY 2005 Challenge America: Serving Every Community fast-track grant program.

Jenkins said the grant will be used to support the addition of audio and video capabilities to the website of the Birthplace of Country Music Award.

The project will provide visitors to the website an opportunity to listen to a 15-30 second clip by an artist from the Upper East Tennessee region.

The Endowment’s Challenge America program was established by the Congress in 2001 to provide greater support for arts projects.
