WASHINGTON, D.C.—A $7 million contract with a cumulative total of $159.8 million has been approved for BAE Systems Ordnance Systems, operators of Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport.

Congressman Bill Jenkins said the award, from the U. S. Army, will be used to upgrade steam plant boilers in order to meet new emission standards set by the U .S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Jenkins said the work will be performed at the Kingsport plant.

The estimated contract completion date is set for December 15, 2008.
