Code of Conduct and Privacy Policy
CareerOneStop - America's Job Bank, Career InfoNet, and Service Locator are services of the Public Employment Service and Public Workforce Investment System. This system, which is supported by the US Department of Labor, is the collaborative effort of the fifty US states, the District of Columbia and several U.S. territories. Information entered on the system will be exchanged between all the state, territorial and Federal partners that operate this system. We reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove portions of this Agreement at any time. Please check these terms periodically for changes. By agreeing to this Code of Conduct, you agree that each time you visit our Site; you shall be subject to, and bound by, the then current terms of this Code of Conduct. Job Seekers The Career Assistant you are about to enter is intended to help manage your career by making it easier for you to find jobs, and for employers to find you. By its very nature, this requires an exchange of information; however, you are in charge of how much information is given, and when it will be shared. None of your personal information will be released unless you affirmatively choose to have it released. You can be assured that none of your information will be sold or released to third party vendors or operators of mailing lists. We hope that you find our services useful enough that you will continue to maintain your account for your entire working life. Because the benefits of this service depend on the exchange of accurate and timely information, we will make every effort to keep the job postings and other information up to date. However, the effective functionality of this service also depends on you doing the same with your resume and any other information that you provide. We reserve the right to remove your resume from the database if it contains inaccurate or inappropriate information. We will also purge old information from the system in accordance with schedules and alerts that we will publish from time to time. Employers, and/or their agents, may not charge you a fee to provide you with access to a job referral. Please report any attempt to charge you relative to these services immediately. Employers or their agents may not use this service to recruit replacement workers in a labor dispute; please report any instance of such recruitment as well. Employers The Human Resources Assistant you are about to enter is intended to help you manage your recruitment efforts by making it easier for job candidates to find your job postings, and for you to search for job candidates directly. By its very nature, this requires an exchange of information; however, you are in charge of how much information is given and when it will be shared. How job seekers contact you, once they view your job posting, is under your control. Your contact information will not be released unless you affirmatively choose to have it released. You can be assured that none of your information will be sold or released to third party vendors or operators of mailing lists. We hope that you find our services useful enough that you will regularly maintain your account. We reserve the right to remove any job posting from the file if it contains inaccurate or inappropriate information. The following are policies that must be followed by employers who utilize this system: - Neither you, nor any of your agents, may charge a fee to provide a job seeker with access to a job referral. You should be aware that individual customers have been asked to report any violation of this policy. - Neither you, nor any of your agents, may use the service to recruit replacement workers in a labor dispute. Individual customers have also been asked to report any instance of such recruitment. - There must be an "employer-employee" relationship. A wage must be provided. Our acceptance of commission only and independent contractor positions are subject to the policy of the State in which you are located. In general these types of positions do not meet the "employer-employee" relationship. - You may not resell or repost resumes found on this site. Such resale or reposting would violate the resume poster's right to control how his or her resume is viewed. - Please be aware that although the data on the America's Job Bank web site is public information, the use of "scraping" or "scrubbing" technologies to obtain that data is illegal and will be prosecuted. Violations of any of these policies will result in the loss of access privileges. Because we are customer oriented, we will occasionally ask you to participate in surveys to gauge the value and effectiveness of our services and to seek your advice on improving the service.
