U.S. PIRG Volunteer Visit
Volunteers with the U.S. Public Interest Research Group Tour Congress and Visit U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee's DC Office
22 July 2003
U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee meets with volunteers from the U.S. Public Interest Research Group (PIRG). PIRG volunteers serve their communities across the nation to raise public awareness on issues of concern, such as the environment and higher education. WashPIRG, the Washington state division of PIRG, recently awarded Inslee with the "Public Interest Champion Award" for his work in Congress to protect the environment and uphold the Roadless Rule.
During their visit with Inslee, these PIRG volunteers discussed their work and expressed how much they feel it is important for individuals to be more involved in the democratic process.
