Inslee Meets with Teen Volunteers of the American Diabetes Association

May 2, 2002

U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee met with teens from the American Diabetes Association, who argued for increased funding of research and education for diabetes. As someone with diabetes in his family, Inslee is proud to be a member of the Diabetes Caucus in Congress. With Inslee's support, Congress recently approved a fourteen percent increase in funding for the National Institutes of Health, which support research and development of treatments and cures for devastating diseases, including diabetes, cancer, and multiple sclerosis. Ultimately, Inslee hopes to double the budget of this agency.
