Putting Democratic Values in Action

The House Democratic Faith Working Group provides Members of strong faith with a venue to share their values and to collaborate with other people of faith on issues of mutual concern.  The Group works with faith communities on common values such as ending poverty, improving schools, protecting Social Security, speaking out against greed and materialism, providing better housing, seeking a clean and livable planet and fighting for social and economic justice for all Americans.

Leader Pelosi addressed the National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast.
Rep. Payne spoke at a bipartisan, bicameral, multi-ethnic, multi-racial and multi-religious effort to find a solution for the victims of the Darfur genocide.

Leader Pelosi and FWG Chairman Jim Clyburn (D-SC) along with Representatives Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Charlie Rangel (D-NY), John Lewis (D-GA), Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Anna Eshoo (D-CA), David Price (D-NC), Silvestre Reyes (D-TX), Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) and Bart Stupak (D-MI) met with Bishop Skylstad, President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.
