General Motors Corporation Announces Recall of Certain 2007 Buick, Chevrolet, and Pontiac Models - November 09, 2006 - On the 2007 Buick Lacrosse, Chevrolet Impala, and Pontiac Grand Prix, GMC is recalling the latest models because the fuel tanks on the models are missing the adhesive layer that bonds the barrier layer to the outer shell of the fuel tank. With this condition, fuel and/or fuel vapors could seep out between the layers, increasing the risk of fire. Read more...

Pro Competition Tire Company Recalls Pro Comp Xtreme A/T Tires Subject to Belt Separation - October 25, 2006 - Some of the subject tires may have been produced with non-conforming belt wire coat stock. If placed in service, the subject tires may develop a belt separation due to a reduced ability to prevent corrosion of the steel wires in an instance where moisture reaches the steel belt. Toyota / Scion TC: Side Window Airbags May Dangerously Deploy on Models Manufactured in 2005-2006 - October 24, 2006 - On certain vehicles, the side-impact seat-bolster and curtain side airbags may inadvertently deploy. This event can occur if the door for that side of the vehicle is closed with a high rate of force while the vehicle's ignition is in the "on" position or within 90 seconds of turning the ignition key from the "on" to the "off" position. In case of accidental deployment, the airbags could cause personal injury if an occupant is seated on the same side of the vehicle as the door that is closed with high speed or force. Until owners have the side airbags repaired, NHTSA recommends using minimal force and speed to close driver and passenger doors. Also, wait longer than 90 seconds from turning the ignition key from "on" to "off" before closing the doors. Read more...

Saab Cars USA, Inc. Issues Recall on Electrical System Ignition Module, for Saab 9-5, '02-03 Model Years - October 23, 2006 - Certain passenger vehicles equipped with B308 6-Cylinder gasoline engines may experience overheating & burnout of the isolated gated bipolar transistor (IGBT) within the ignition discharge module (IDM) due to increased susceptiblity to electrical loads. Overheating of the IGBT occurs most often at engine start-up, but it may also occur while the engine is running. Engine stalling may occur, which could result in a crash. Read more...

Wal-Mart Recalls Minnie Mouse Cardigan Sets Due to Strangulation Hazard - October 25, 2006 - The pink cardigan is sold as part of a three-piece set which also includes a light pink turtleneck and denim pants. The cardigan has a pink ribbon woven around the neckline. Minnie Mouse is embroidered on the lower left front of the cardigan. The cardigan was sold in sizes 12M, 18M, 24M, 3T, 4T, and 5T. If the cardigan is buttoned, the ribbon woven around the neckline poses a strangulation hazard for children. Read more...

Halloween Pumpkin Decoration Kits Sold at Target Stores Recalled by Paper Magic Group for Choking Hazards - October 24, 2006 - The pumpkin decoration kits contain small parts that pose a choking hazard to young children. The recalled kits include plastic ears, eyes, noses, mouth, hands, shoes, hats, eyeglasses and jewelry that are used to decorate Halloween pumpkins. The recall includes Mr. Potato Head "Make a Monster Pumpkin" and "Make a Fireman Pumpkin" and Mrs. Potato Head "Make a Diva Pumpkin."The products are labeled for ages 2 and older. Baby Cookie Monster Toys Sold with DVD at Wal-Mart Recalled for Choking Hazard - October 18, 2006 - The small felt fabric cookie attached to the plush toy’s hand can be removed easily and ingested by young children, posing a choking hazard. This recall involves the Baby Cookie Monster plush toy packaged with certain Sesame Beginnings Make Music Together DVDs. The blue plush toy has a small, felt fabric cookie attached to its hand. The plush toy and DVD are packaged in a yellow and green box with the words "Sesame Beginnings" and "Make Music Together" printed on the front. Consumer Alert: Britax Child Safety, Inc. to Conduct Safety Recall for 'Companion' Child Safety Seats - October 05, 2006 - The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that Britax Child Safety, Inc. is conducting a safety recall campaign, starting September 29, 2006, for the "Companion" rear-facing, infant-only child safety seat (Model E9L14). The recall includes seats produced from October 31, 2003, through June 6, 2004. Due to incorrect assembly of some of the infant carriers, tabs on the bottom of the carrier may not be properly seated. As a result, these child restraints fail to conform to the dynamic test requirement of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, "Child Restraint Systems."In the event of a vehicle crash, the carrier would rotate beyond the limit required by the standard, possibly resulting in serious injury or even death to the child. Suave Kids Bath Sets Sold at Wal-Mart Recalled for Choking, Other Hazards - September 27, 2006 - Items in the baths sets contain small parts that pose a choking hazard to young children. Additionally, some of the handles on the carrying case are long enough to pose a strangulation hazard. Also, the plastic carrying case poses a danger of suffocation. This recall involves "Suave" brand bath sets that contain a 3-in-1 shampoo, bath sponge, and various other toy animal and character bath products. The baths sets are packaged in brightly colored vinyl bags with a clear window. Style numbers involved in this recall are: SVK 9498, 9499, 9501, 9506, 9507 and 9508. Playskool Voluntarily Recalls Toy Tool Benches after the Death of Two Toddlers - September 22, 2006 - Playskool, of Pawtucket, R.I., is voluntarily recalling about 255,000 Team Talkin’ Tool Bench toys following the deaths of two young children. The Team Talkin’ Tool Bench is a 20-inch tall plastic toy tool bench with an animated red toy saw, a yellow toy drill and a blue toy vice. The toy talks and makes various sound effects, including tool sounds. The product also includes a toy hammer, screwdriver, two 2¼-inch plastic screws, two 3-inch plastic nails and pieces to build a small toy plane. Gildan Activewear Recalls Youth Hooded Sweatshirts with Drawstrings for Strangulation Hazard - September 20, 2006 - These sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. The fleece sweatshirts were sold in youth sizes Extra Small to Extra Large, and have a "Gildan Activewear" neck label. The sweatshirts were manufactured in 12 different colors. The Cayre Group Recalls Hooded Sweatshirts with Drawstrings Sold at Kohl’s for Strangulation Hazard - September 20, 2006 - These sweatshirts have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. The recalled hoodie style zip front hooded sweatshirts were sold in four youth sizes S (7-8), M (9-12), L (14) and XL (16.) The sweatshirts have drawstrings through the hood and were available in two colors, Blue Bell and Demitasse. A tag sewn on the inside of the garment reads, "Candie’s." Read more...

LEGO Recalls Toy Trucks Due to Puncture Hazard to Young Children - September 20, 2006 - The plastic wheels on the truck can detach, exposing a metal axle. This poses a puncture hazard to young children. LEGO EXPLORE Super Truck is a toy-in-toy product designed for children ages 18 months and up. The toy features a red plastic pick-up/dump truck that measures about 15-inches high and 19-inches wide with four 7-inch black plastic wheels that are packed with a box of 40 LEGO DUPLO bricks in the cargo area. The unit has a row of DUPLO "studs" across the top of the cab, molded yellow headlights and stickers on the front and sides of the unit create the idea of a windshield, windows and doors depicting a LEGO figure in the driver’s seat. The LEGO Explore logo is printed on the door stickers. The box of DUPLO bricks is not included in this recall. Read more...

Children’s Bathrobes Sold at Ross Stores Recalled Due to Burn Hazard - September 19, 2006 - These bathrobes fail to meet the children’s sleepwear flammability standard, and pose a burn hazard. The recalled bathrobes are made of 100 percent cotton terrycloth. The bathrobes were sold in several color combinations including: white with pink pockets and a green collar; dark blue with yellow pockets and an orange collar; and light pink with a hood with pig ears, eyes, and nose. The recalled robes were infant and toddler sizes. A label on the inside of the garment reads, "Que Cute." Read more...

DeWalt Recalls Framing Saws and Circular Saws for Laceration Hazard - November 08, 2006 - The lower blade guard can fail to close, leaving the blade exposed and presenting a laceration hazard to consumers. This recall involves DeWalt DW378G and DW378GT 7 ¼-inch framing saws with date codes 200301-49 through 200637-49. The model numbers for the framing saws are located on the side of the housing. The date code is located either on the name plate or under the handle near the power cord exit. Circular saws involved in this recall have model number DC300 with date codes 200601-49 through 200637-49. The model number on the circular saw is located on the name plate on the top of the motor housing. The date code on the circular saw is located on the underside of the motor housing. Framing saws marked with a "V" on the underside of the handle near the cord set and circular saws marked with a "V" on the underside of the motor housing or under the handle where the battery is inserted have already been repaired and are not involved in this recall. WMH Tool Group Inc. Recalls Wilton Mitre Saws for Laceration Hazard - November 08, 2006 - The aluminum cast pivot joint that connects the base of the saw to the head assembly (which contains the saw blade) can crack under extreme pressure or force, causing the blade assembly to unexpectedly break free from the stationary base. This poses a laceration hazard to consumers. The recall involves all Wilton-brand, 10-inch Compound Mitre Saws, including models with the Laser Line feature with model numbers 99164 and 99192. Warn Industries Inc. Recalls Eight-Post ATV Winch Kits for Overheating - November 08, 2006 - A component of the winch kit, the eight-post contactor, can continue to pull current when in the "off" position, which can cause it to overheat and pose a fire hazard. This recall involves eight-post contactors used on certain 2,500 to 3,500 lb Warn ATV and Utility Vehicle Winch Kits. The black contactors were sold as a part of winch kits and have a "WARN" logo on the top and bottom of the contactor. Warn part number 62135 is printed on the bottom. Contactors are found on the vehicle attached to the power wires, between the battery and the winch. The contactor has four holes for securing it to the vehicle. Various Firms Recall Flashing Pacifiers for Choking, Aspiration and Strangulation Hazards - November 02, 2006 - These pacifiers failed to meet federal safety standards for pacifiers. The nipple can separate from the shield easily, posing a choking hazard. Some pacifiers were sold with necklaces that pose a strangulation hazard, and one of the necklaces has beads that can come loose, which poses an aspiration hazard. Though they are marketed for older children, they could be given to babies, and can cause serious injury or death. Read more...

Atico International USA, Inc. Recalls Espresso Makers for Burn and Impact Injury Hazards - November 01, 2006 - The espresso maker’s heating element can forcefully separate from its base during the brewing cycle. This poses burn and impact injury hazards to nearby consumers. The Espresso Maker has a black base and a silver water reservoir. The coffee carafe is smoke-colored plastic with a back handle. The words "EspressoExpress" are imprinted on the black base. The item number is W14A7166, which is located underneath the base. Read more...

Family Dollar Recalls 'Creepy Cape' Costumes Due to Flammability Hazard - October 31, 2006 - These vinyl capes fail to meet the standard for the flammability of vinyl plastic film, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. The recall involves 40-inch black vinyl capes with a stand-up collar. A white sticker on the collar of the cape reads, "FLAME RETARDANT PVC" and "MADE IN CHINA." The packaging shows a green-skinned vampire wearing a black cape. Writing on the packaging includes "CREEPY CAPE," "Ages 6 To 60," and "NO. 53600." Read more...

Weil-McLain Recalls Ultra Series Boilers for Carbon Monoxide Hazard - October 31, 2006 - These boilers were manufactured for use with natural gas, but could have a blue tag incorrectly indicating to installers that they are intended for use with LP (propane) gas. If an installer connects one of the boilers to LP gas without installing a propane conversion kit, carbon monoxide (CO) can build up due to incomplete combustion, posing a risk of CO poisoning. The recall involves Weil-McLain Ultra 80, Ultra 105, Ultra 155, Ultra 230 and Ultra 310 condensing, high- efficient, gas-fired boilers for space heating. The user’s manual and installation manual have "Ultra Gas-Fired Water Boiler" on the cover. The boilers are wrapped in a glossy silver/flat black jacket and either stand on the floor or are wall-mounted. The serial numbers range from CP5071716 through CP5327000. When the panel on the front of the boiler is removed, a bar-coded label with the serial number is located on the lower right hand side of the boiler itself. Wal-Mart Recalls Home Trends Footstools for Collapse Hazard - October 25, 2006 - The footstool is a natural-colored wood footstool. The standing surface is 11 1/2-inches by 11 1/2-inches with a 4-inch- long oval opening in the center. The stool is 11 1/2-inches tall. The recalled footstool can be identified by a white sticker underneath the step that contains the UPC number 87065900001. Due to improper construction, the stool can break and collapse, posing a fall hazard to consumers. Read more...

Bicycle Pedals Recalled by Time Sport International Due to Fall Hazard - October 25, 2006 - The pedal’s bearing cap can fail causing the pedal to come off the bicycle. This poses a fall hazard for riders. The recalled pedals are black or gray. They are made of composite material and are mounted to either a steel or titanium pedal axle and bearing unit by using a threaded aluminum bearing cap. Pedals that have a gold dot on the underside of the pedal body just inside where the bearing cap is mounted to the pedal body are not included in this recall. The firm has received reports of eight incidents in which the pedal came off the bicycle, resulting in minor injuries. Read more...

Streetlights Recalled by Beacon Products Due to Injury Hazard to Passersby - October 25, 2006 - The lighting fixtures could fall from their lamp posts due to a problem with the coupling system used to secure them. This poses a risk of injury for persons beneath the lighting fixtures. The pendant-style outdoor lighting fixtures were installed by municipalities and developers as subdivision and/or downtown urban streetlights. The lighting fixtures typically appear along sidewalks and smaller avenues. They are made of aluminum and sold in various colors. Some have glass covers. Recall of Faulty Pumps for Fire Suppression Systems - October 25, 2006 - A mechanical part on these pumps was not fully secured, which can lead to the pump failing during use. If pumps sold with fire suppression systems fail, the risk of fire damage increases. The pump itself does not pose a fire hazard. These pumps were previously recalled for the same hazard in August 2006. The recall has now been expanded to include additional date codes and the dates sold have been expanded. The recalled pumps are general in purpose, but are sometimes used in fire suppression systems. The pumps were sold under the Goulds Pumps, Bell & Gossett and Red Jacket Water Products brands. The pumps can be identified by having Model NPE, NPO, MCC, MCS, SM or Series 3530 on their nameplate. Recalled pumps were manufactured between December 2005 and September 7, 2006. They have date code M05, A06, B06, C06, D06, E06, F06, G06, H06 or J06. The date code is the first three digits of the serial number on the pump nameplate. Read more...

Sony Recalls Notebook Computer Batteries Due to Previous Fires - October 23, 2006 - These lithium ion batteries can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. There have been 16 reports of notebook computer batteries overheating, causing minor property damage and two minor burns. All of these reported incidents and injuries have been associated with earlier recalls of notebook computer batteries containing these Sony cells. There have been no incidents involving batteries sold by the notebook manufacturers participating in this announcement. Petzl America Recalls Climbing Equipment Due to Fall Hazard - October 18, 2006 - These carabiners have a green button that acts as a safety mechanism to prevent unlocking. The recalled carabiners can unlock unexpectedly without pressing the green button, posing a fall hazard. The recall involves the M34 BL Am’D Ball-Lock and M36 BL William Ball Lock carabiners with metal locking sleeves. Carabiners with batch number between 06076 and 06178 are included in the recall. Decathlon USA Announces Recall of Quechua Tents and Canopies Due to Flammability Hazard - October 17, 2006 - The tents may fail to meet the industry’s flame resistant standard, posing a fire hazard. All 2006 model Quechua branded tents (2-Seconds, 2-Seconds Air, 3-Seconds Air, T2, T3 Air, T4 Air, T6.2XL Air, T2 Ultralight Tents, T0 and T0+ canopies) sold in orange, red, blue, camouflage, or beige with SKU numbers 350808, 65196, 86813 146552, 146548, 100986, 351219, 370833, 531980, 531989, 65024, 90366, 90428, 567008, 567009, 567036, 567032, 370973, 22611, 566985, and 566992 are included in this recall. Starbucks Announces Recall of 8-Cup Coffee Brewers Due to Possible Fire Hazard - October 17, 2006 - The coffee brewer has defective electrical wiring that can result in overheating, smoking, burning and melting, posing a possible fire hazard. This recall includes the Starbucks Barista Aroma 8-Cup Coffee Brewer only. "Starbucks Barista Aroma" is embossed on the front of the brewer and the brewer has silver control panel buttons and a chrome finish. Light & Motion Recalls Bicycle Light Batteries for Fire and Burn Hazards - October 17, 2006 - The battery can overheat, posing a fire or burn hazard to users. The recalled batteries are found in Light & Motion 2004 ARC Li-Ion HID lighting systems. The lights are black with "ARC" and "LIGHT & MOTION" written in yellow letters. The recall includes only batteries with a manufacturer date code of 1003 or 1103. The date code is stamped on the bottom of the battery and "LIGHT & MOTION" is printed on the side of the battery. Black & Decker Recalls Blower/Vacuums for Fire Hazard - October 10, 2006 - A loose connection between the blower/vac and an extension cord can cause overheating, posing a fire hazard. This recall involves Black & Decker model BV4000 Type 1 blower/vacs. The model and type number are printed on a name plate on the right side of the unit. Agio International Recalls Outdoor Gas Fire Pits Due to Fire Hazard - October 05, 2006 - If the regulator hose for the propane cylinder contacts the burner during use, the hose can rupture, presenting a risk of a fire outside of the unit. The fire pit is an outdoor gas fire pit with a surrounding housing that serves as a table. The fire pits were sold in various shapes and sizes, including oval, hexagonal, round and octagonal. They have various style table tops, including real and faux marble, slate, ceramic or stone. The bases of the fire pits have various styles, including mountain stone, field stone, flag stone, cobblestone, stucco, brick and wicker. The model number 98500 or 98500A is printed on the top of the label on the side of the sliding drawer holding the propane tank, or, on some models, on the back of the hinged door that lifts up to get to the propane tank. MTD Snow Throwers Recalled - Plastic Wheel Rims Can Burst and Injure Users - October 05, 2006 - If the snow thrower’s tires are over-inflated, the plastic wheel rims can burst, posing a risk of lacerations and fractures. The recalled two-stage compact snow thrower is used for snow removal. The snow thrower has two wheels and comes in red, green, gray or black. FreeMotion Fitness Inc. Recalls Exercise Machines - Weights Can Unexpectedly Drop, Hit Users - October 03, 2006 - The selector pin for the weight plates can slip out of its slot if the edges of the pin are worn, allowing the weights to drop suddenly. Falling weight plates can hit consumers using the machines. The recall includes FreeMotion Cable Cross and Dual Cable Cross Exercise Machines with model numbers GZFM6006 and GZFM6024. The recalled machines can be identified by the name Cable Cross located on the upper frame. The FreeMotion Cable Cross machines are used to exercise by pulling on cables on each side of the machine to raise a series of weight plates. The arms where the cables enter the machine can be moved through an arc using 13 position points spaced from straight down to straight up. Lenovo and IBM Announce Recall of ThinkPad Notebook Computer Batteries Due to Fire Hazard - September 28, 2006 - These lithium-ion batteries can cause overheating, posing a fire hazard to consumers. The recalled lithium-ion batteries were sold with or sold separately to be used with the following ThinkPad notebook computers: T Series (T43, T43p, T60); R Series (R51e, R52, R60, R60e); and X Series (X60, X60s). Cervélo Cycles Inc. Announces Recall of Bicycles Due to Fall Hazard - September 28, 2006 - The bicycle frames can loosen or separate, causing the rider to lose control, fall and be injured. This recall only involves the 2005 model year R2.5 model bicycles and bicycle frames with serial numbers higher than R251700. The model numbers and serial numbers are printed on the bicycle frame tubes. The frames have clear coating over a carbon fiber with either red and white "Cervélo" decals on the down tube, seat tube and head tube, or blue and white decals in the same locations. Read more...

Recalls Travel Cots Due to Choking Hazard - September 19, 2006 - The plastic cap on the corner connectors can come loose, posing a small parts choking hazard to young children.The recalled travel cot consists of an aluminum frame with four legs that holds a fabric enclosure for a small child with mesh windows on all sides and a zippered mesh opening on the top. Segway Inc. Announces Recall to Repair Segway® Personal Transporters - September 14, 2006 - The personal transporter can unexpectedly apply reverse torque to the wheels, which can cause a rider to fall. This can occur when the device is tilted back by the Speed Limiter and the rider comes off and then back onto the device within a short period of time. This recall involves all Segway PT i167, i170 and i180 ("i Series") models, the p133 ("p Series"), XT ("cross-terrain transporter"), GT ("golf transporter") and i2 models. These units were sold to consumers and commercial customers. All e167 ("e Series") models, which were sold to commercial users, also are included in this recall. No other models are involved in this recall. The name, "Segway", appears on the front bumper and/or on the handlebars of the personal transporter. Read more...

Sara Lee Premium White Hamburger Buns produced at its Valdese, North Carolina bakery. Cole Slaw, and Food City 12 oz. Cole Slaw - October 25, 2006 - Ballard's Farm Sausage, Inc. of Wayne, WV announces an extension of its voluntary recall involving all lots of Ballard's Farm 24 oz. Amish Macaroni salad, Ballard's Farm 24 oz. Amish Sweet Slaw, Ballard's Farm 12 oz. Cole Slaw, and Food City 12 oz. Cole Slaw because of a possible health risk. This is in addition to the recall of Ballard's Farm 12 oz. Egg Salad on 10/18/06. Laboratory tests show the products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. This organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

These products were distributed in West Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Delaware, Michigan and Alabama. This organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The recalled egg salads were distributed in West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, Alabama, Delaware, Illinois and Florida. The products being recalled are sold in a clear plastic cup with the description cleared displayed on the side of the cup. Bolthouse Farms Issues Voluntary Recall for 100% Carrot Juice - September 29, 2006 - As a precautionary measure, following incidents involving two bottles of temperature abused 100% Carrot Juice, Wm. Bolthouse Farms of Bakersfield, CA is recalling 100% Carrot Juice. Carrot juice has the potential, if left un- refrigerated, to develop botulism. All Bolthouse Farms processing facilities have been examined closely by internal auditors and the FDA, and have been found to be in compliance will all appropriate controlling regulations. In addition, samples from suspect lots have been examined by the FDA, and all samples have been found to be toxin free. These results clearly indicate a likely link between consumer temperature abuse and the development of botulinum toxin. 100% Carrot Juice is distributed to all 50 states, Mexico & Canada through retail stores, and is labeled as follows:

  • "Bolthouse Farms 100% Carrot Juice", sold in both 1 liter and 450 milliliter sizes

FDA Statement on Foodborne E. coli 0157:H7 Outbreak in Spinach - September 17, 2006 - To date, 109 cases of illness due to E. coli infection have been reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including 16 cases of Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) and one death. Illnesses continue to be reported to CDC. This is considered to be an ongoing investigation. There are 19 confirmed states: California, Connecticut, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. FDA advises consumers to not eat fresh spinach or fresh spinach-containing products until further notice.

FDA has been informed that River Ranch, of California, is recalling packages of spring mix containing spinach. River Ranch obtained bulk spring mix containing spinach from Natural Selections. The following brands are involved: Farmers Market, Hy Vee, Fresh and Easy. Products that do not contain spinach are not part of this recall.

Natural Selection Foods, LLC, of San Juan Bautista, California, is recalling all of its products containing spinach in all brands they pack with "Best if Used by Dates" of August 17, 2006 through October 1, 2006. These products include spinach and any salad with spinach in a blend, both retail and food service products. Products that do not contain spinach are not part of this recall. FDA Informs Public of Nationwide Recall of 500mg Strength Store-Brand Acetaminophen Caplets - November 09, 2006 - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is alerting the public to a voluntary recall being conducted by Perrigo Company (Perrigo) of Allegan, Michigan for 383 lots of acetaminophen 500mg caplets manufactured and distributed under various store-brands as a result of small metal fragments found in a small number of these caplets. Approximately 11 million bottles containing varying quantities of acetaminophen 500mg caplets are affected by this recall.
