HERSETH SEEKS FALL INTERN APPLICATIONS

Positions Available in Washington, D.C., Sioux Falls, Rapid City and Aberdeen

July 18, 2006, Washington, D.C. - U.S. Rep. Stephanie Herseth is accepting applications for fall internships in her Washington, D.C., Aberdeen, Rapid City and Sioux Falls Congressional offices. The internships will roughly coincide with the fall school semester, starting on or about September 1, 2006. South Dakota natives who are current college students are encouraged to apply.

Herseth said, "I am pleased to offer internships in all my offices to young people who want to learn more about their government and public policy. These positions will provide a close, firsthand look at how the federal government works, and how my office strives to serve the needs of South Dakotans. I encourage anyone with an interest in public service and government to apply."

The Washington internship will offer direct exposure to a wide range of duties in a Congressional office, including firsthand experience with many aspects of the federal government. The state office internships include involvement in day-to-day contact with South Dakotans who need assistance with a federal government program.

To print an application, please visit Herseth's website at http://www.house.gov/herseth/internships.htm or contact Stacy Burnette for more information:
