John Linder (GA), Chairman

Chairman John Linder came to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1992 representing Georgia's 7th District, which includes parts of Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth, Gwinnett and Paulding Counties. As Chairman of the Subcommittee on Prevention of Nuclear and Biological Attack, Linder oversees efforts to prevent terrorist attacks on the United States involving nuclear and biological weapons, and oversees the Department of Homeland Security’s role in nuclear and biological counter-proliferation and detection of fissile materials, biological weapons, precursors, and production equipment.

Prior to serving in the U.S. Congress, Linder served seven terms in Georgia's General Assembly, where he was a strong advocate for small business and families.

In addition to Congressman Linder’s duties on the Committee on Homeland Security, he currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee on the Subcommittee on Oversight and the Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures.
