GRAVES CUTS RIBBON AT NEW EASTSIDE POST OFFICE

LIBERTY – U.S. Congressman Sam Graves took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Grand Opening of St. Joseph’s new Eastside Station Post Office yesterday.

“As most of us know, the old postal facility was not only small and overworked, but dangerous. The working space was too small, and ultimately became a fire hazard for both customers and postal employees. Lines often ran into a small and congested parking lot,” said Graves. “This new facility has more than 5,000 square feet of space, and nearly 200 more Post Office Boxes.”

Beginning in 2002, Graves worked the U.S. Postal Service and the Postal Advisory Council to open the new facility in St. Joseph. The new Eastside Station Post Office offers 24-hour Post Office Box service, and more customer parking.

“The Postal Service is about connecting people. It does not have boundaries. It reaches across continents, oceans, cultures and languages. I am thrilled this new facility will provide the people of St. Joseph with greater access to all the wonderful services the U.S. Postal Service has to offer,” said Graves.

Graves is a third-term Congressman representing northwest and central Missouri. He is a Deputy Whip, a member of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and the Chairman of the Small Business Sub-Committee on Rural Enterprises, Agriculture and Technology.
