Academy Nominations
Each year, Rep. Goodlatte will
review dozens of applications
from high school students from
the district who are eager to
continue their education at one
of the five U.S. Service Academies:
the U.S. Military Academy (West
Point, NY), the U.S. Naval Academy
(Annapolis, MD), the U.S. Air
Force Academy (Colorado Springs,
CO), the U.S. Merchant Marine
Academy (Kings Point, NY), and
the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (New
London, CT). |

To gain admission to the U.S. Service Academies,
with the exception of the Coast Guard, local
students must usually be sponsored by one
of three individuals:
- the
Vice-President of the United States,
- a
Senator from their state, or
- their
U.S. Representative T
