| Description: Some organizations estimate that over 400,000 people have died since the beginning of the “Darfur Conflict” in February of 2003. Congress has easily classified the current campaign of rape, killing and looting as genocide. For this reason, I became a cosponsor of this resolution urging President Bush to appoint a Special Envoy for Sudan. It is imperative that the United States work with the international community to bring relief to the suffering people in this region. |
