Levy County was named for David Levy Yulee, who was a U.S. Senator from Florida from 1845 until 1851 and from 1855 until 1861.  Bronson, though not the largest city in Levy County, is the County Seat.

Today, Levy County is home to more than 35,000 residents, 265 miles of coast line, thousands of acres of forest, three major rivers and over twenty-five nature-based recreational areas.  Levy County comprises what’s known as Florida’s "Nature Coast" and a visit there will prove why.

When visiting Levy County, be sure to see the historic Suwannee River, the Withlacoochee River and the many scenic points of interest that line the Nature Coast in Levy County.
