Internships

2005 Fall InternsA Washington Internship with Senator Baucus is an active, educational, and para professional experience in the United States Senate as a representative of Senator Baucus and the State of Montana. Interns are employed for each academic semester and during the summer months. Interns may select either part-time or full-time status to correspond with their schedules.

Internships are available in my Capitol Hill office or in any of my Montana offices. Interns have a terrific opportunity to learn more about the legislative process. While the positions are unpaid, most interns agree that this experience gives them valuable insights into the workings of the U.S. Congress and a chance to help serve fellow Montanans.

The interns in Senator Baucus' office gain knowledge and experience in three areas of operation: legislative, administrative, and press. Interns are assigned specific legislative responsibilities and assist with all office operations, as necessary. As an intern's contributions to the office are important, a responsible commitment, willingness to work hard, and a positive attitude are essential to the success of an intern's experience.
