Providing for our Troops and Protecting CT Jobs: Senator Dodd Visits Windsor-based Aero Gear Inc.

Senator Dodd visited the Windsor-based manufacturer Aero Gear, Inc., where he announced new funding to will support Connecticut jobs and provide critical aerospace technology for the United States Army.

"The work performed at Aero Gear, and other Aerospace Components Manufacturing member companies, helps strengthen not only our economy but our national security," said Dodd. "This project continues to grow in its importance as the Army works to repair various fleets of military aircraft, worn down by combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s important that we make investments in U.S. companies, especially those who play an important role in our national security, and I’m pleased to be part of this effort."

Aero Gear, Inc. is a supplier of aerospace gears, servicing major companies such as Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Sundstrand, and Sikorsky. Senator Dodd met members of the Aerospace Components Manufacturing group to discuss the industry’s most important needs to stay competitive in the 21st century.
