| (Washington D.C.)- Resident Commissioner, Luis G. Fortuņo, informed today that a senatorial commission gave the green light to the designation of attorney-at-law Francisco A. Besosa to occupy the vacancy as a District Judge of the United States District Court of Puerto Rico. The endorsement of attorney Besosa was passed by unanimous consent this morning in an executive meeting in the Judiciary Committee of the United States Senate.
Fortuņo seemed pleased with the prompt endorsement to the designation of counsel Besosa. The Resident Commissioner indicated the designation of Besosa goes now to the Senate floor for consideration where it is hoped that it will be passed without delays. If confirmed, it would be the third vacancy in the US District Court to be filled since Fortuņo came to Congress.
