CORPUS CHRISTI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO RECEIVE FEDERAL GRANT WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Solomon P. Ortiz today announced that the Corpus Christi International Airport was awarded a grant for $5,425,000 from the United States Department of Transportation to extend runways, acquire equipment, improve drainage and rehabilitate a taxiway. "Transportation grants are extremely important to our area given our international trade relationships and our need to support those with the appropriate infrastructure," said Ortiz. "We are also a hub for tourism here in the Coastal Bend. This is a significant amount of money for the Corpus Christi Airport, and I'm pleased the Transportation Department understands our needs here in South Texas."
