CONGRESSMAN FATTAH CALLS ON ADMINISTRATION TO STEP UP IN MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT |
WASHINGTON, DC -- “As bombs continue to fall, and the death toll continues to rise, it is time for the Administration to become more actively engaged in bringing this growing crisis to a conclusion. Israel has an undeniable right to defend itself. The long term interest of the United States, Israel and moderate Arab States in the region requires an immediate resolution to these expanding hostilities. It is not to anyone’s advantage that Lebanon’s fledging democracy be weakened. I call on President Bush and Secretary Rice to immediately and personally engage all parties towards a cessation of the increasing Middle East hostilities.” |
