Committee Holds Roundtable on Regulatory
Reform
WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 21, 2005) - Today, the Senate Committee
on Small Business and Entrepreneurship hosted a staff-led Regulatory Reform
Roundtable that served as a forum for small businesses, key stakeholders, and
agency staff to address regulatory reform issues. They discussed three targeted
regulatory reform bills that Senator Snowe has introduced in this Senate:
" The Small Business
Compliance Assistance Enhancement Act of 2005 (S.
769), which would clarify the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA) requirement
that agencies produce small business compliance guides. Click
here for summary of S.769.
" The Regulatory Flexibility
Reform Act (S. 1388), which would amend the
RFA to ensure the comprehensive analysis of the impact of Federal regulations
on small businesses and provide these entities with much-needed regulatory relief. Click here for summary of S.1388.
" The National Small
Business Regulatory Assistance Act (S.1411),
which would direct the SBA to establish a pilot program to provide regulatory
compliance assistance to small business concerns, through Small Business Development
Centers. Click here for Summary of S.1411.
