Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Gold River, has been named chairman of a House subcommittee to develop strategies to protect against terrorist attacks and prioritize spending on homeland security infrastructure. His district includes Galt.
The subcommittee is also responsible for the security of borders, ports, transportation, computers, telecommunications and electronic infrastructure.
In addition to chairing the subcommittee, Lungren will serve on the Subcommittee on the Prevention of Nuclear and Biological Attack and the Subcommittee on Intelligence, Information Sharing and Terrorism Risk Assessment.
Lungren also serves on the House Judiciary and Budget committees. He represented the Long Beach area in Congress from 1979 through 1989 and was California's Attorney General from 1991 through 1999. |
