An Artistic Discovery is an annual nationwide Congressional High School Art Competition sponsored by the Congressional Arts Caucus and initiated by Members of Congress of the U.S. House of Representatives in their districts.

In the past, over 200 congressional offices have participated in the program. First place winning entry from each congressional district will be displayed in the corridor tunnel leading to the U.S. Capitol Building for one year, where it will be seen by thousands of people.

The Congressional High School Art Competition provides an opportunity for students across the country to exhibit their artwork and receive national recognition.

Students compete in local art competitions held in their Member's district. Each year I sponsor the Congressional Arts Competition in our district during the Spring.

Information on the Congressional Arts Competition is sent to all high school art teachers in the 17th District shortly after the beginning of the school year, in January and again in February. The Competition is open to all high school students in the 17th District.
