On Tuesday, September 26, staff of the Standards Committee will hold a briefing on the ethics rules relating to campaign activity.  The briefing will take place in Room 2167, in the Rayburn House Office Building (Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Hearing Room), beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Among the subjects that will be addressed are the general prohibition against using House resources for campaign purposes, the rules on campaign work by House employees, and the solicitation, receipt, and use of campaign funds.  This will be an excellent opportunity to brush up on the rules and the Committee’s guidance in this area.  Audience participation by way of questions will be encouraged.

Standards Committee staff attorneys are also available to brief any Member, as well as the staff of any Member, committee, or other House office.  To schedule such a briefing, or for further information about the September 26 briefing, please call the Committee office at extension 5-7103.  No RSVP is required to attend the September 26 briefing.
