Hoyer Attends 19th Annual Wade in With Bernie Fowler

CALVERT COUNTY –Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) attended former State Senator Bernie Fowler’s 19th Annual “Wade In" on June 11, 2006. The Wade In was started by Fowler as an unscientific but telling manner of gauging the water quality of the Patuxent River.

Hoyer Warns Students of Childhood Obesity Epidemic

BOWIE, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) was joined by Congressman Ben Cardin (D-MD) and the staff of Children’s National Medical Center at Samuel Ogle Middle School in Bowie to discuss the growing childhood obesity crisis and present students with tips for healthy living. (RELATED LINK)

Hoyer Presents Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute with $825,000

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) today presented the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute (MFRI) with $825,000 in federal funds to conduct research and development of interoperable firefighter accountability location and monitoring devices, and incorporate them into a system applicable to emergencies.
