» Committee on Financial Services
The House Financial Services Committee has jurisdiction over the entire financial services industry, including the securities, insurance, banking, and housing industries. The Committee also oversees the Federal Reserve, the Treasury, the SEC, and other financial services regulators. It is composed of 71 Members of the House of Representatives, 38 Members are from the Republican Party, 32 Members are from the Democratic Party and 1 Member is an Independent and tends to vote with the Democrats.

» Congressional Diabetes Caucus
The Congressional Diabetes Caucus is a bipartisan group of Congress committed to improving the life of the 17 million Americans with diabetes. The Caucus is also dedicated to supporting important research funding into diabetes and diabetes-related complications. The Diabetes Caucus was formed in 1996 and has grown to be the largest caucus in Congress with 289 members in the 107th Congress.
» Congressional Fire Services Caucus
The Congressional Fire Services Caucus has over 320 bipartisan members. Founded by Congressman Curt Weldon in 1987, the Caucus unites Republicans and Democrats in support of fire service legislation that benefit all first responders. Caucus members are asked to pledge support in a way that best benefits fire departments in their respective Congressional Districts. The Caucus works closely with the Congressional Fire Safety Institute to achieve their mission, "So That Fire Responders Never Stand Alone."

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) is comprised of 20 Members of Congress of Hispanic descent. The Caucus is dedicated to voicing and advancing, through the legislative process, issues affecting Hispanics in the United States and Puerto Rico. The Congressional Hispanic Caucus aims to address national and international issues and the impact these policies have on the Hispanic community. The function of the Caucus is to serve as a forum for the Hispanic Members of Congress to coalesce around a collective legislative agenda. In addition to covering legislative action, the CHC also monitors Executive and Judicial issues. Congressman Hinojosa is Chairman of the Caucus' Education Taskforce.

The Rural Education Caucus is a bi-partisan coalition of Members who collaborate with the Department of Education to confront the special problems that require special solutions to better serve the needs of students and teachers in rural schools.
» Rural Health Care Coalition
The RHCC is a bi-partisan coalition of Members of Congress committed to advancing rural priorities in health care policy. Since its inception, the RHCC has been a very active and effective force in Congress. We have been successful in establishing the Office of Rural Health Policy within the Department of Health and Human Services, establishing the Rural Health Transition Grant Program, and forming the Critical Access Hospital program.
» Rural Housing Caucus
Congressman Hinojosa founded the Rural Housing Caucus to address the needs for additional quality rental and single family housing in rural communities. Rental housing in particular is scarce in rural areas and much of the housing available is of very poor quality. Rural families deserve the same opportunities to live in quality, affordable housing as their urban and suburban counterparts.

» Congressional Financial and Economic Literacy Caucus
In 2005, Congressman Hinojosa and Congresswoman Judy Biggert co-founded the Congressional Financial and Economic Literacy Caucus. The Caucus is designed to increase public awareness of poor financial literacy rates across the country and work toward improving those rates. The purpose of the Financial and Economic Literacy Caucus is to provide a forum for interested Members of Congress to promote policies to advance financial literacy and economic education. The Caucus will highlight successful policies at the federal, state and local levels and private sector and nonprofit best practices.
