The Capitol Guide Service has resumed unscheduled, walk-up tours every 15 minutes on Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Tour lines form beyond the East Front Plaza and are conducted by the Capitol Guide Service in groups of 40 or less.
If you are looking for a more personal tour of the Capitol, my staff can be of assistance if arrangements are made in advance of your trip. Please call my Washington, D.C. office to schedule a staff-lead tour of the Capitol.
Please note that you must obtain a free pass from my office if you would like to sit in the House gallery. Please stop by my Washington, D.C. to obtain free gallery passes.

Congressional tours of the White House are available Tuesday-Saturday from 7:30 am -11:30 am. The White House will choose the time of the tour.
Please note that White House tours are completely at the discretion of the White House Visitor's Office. I will do my best to secure a reservation for you and your party, but again, the White House makes the ultimate decision on tours of the building.
Unfortunately, due to increased security measures, the White House is only permitting pre-formed groups of 10 or more to tour the White House at this time. Tickets for these groups should be requested a minimum of two months in advance.

Congressional tours of the Library of Congress are held Monday-Friday at 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. Arrangements must be made in advance of your visit for a staff-arranged tour.
Public tours are held Monday-Friday at 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm and 3 pm. Tours are also available on Saturday from 10:30 am - 2:30 pm.

PUBLIC TOURS - PEAK SEASON - MARCH THROUGH SEPTEMBER - TICKETS ARE REQUIRED
Tickets are required for all tours beginning the first day of March (Tuesday, March 1, 2005), on a first-come, first-served basis. The ticket booth is located on Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street). They offer same day tickets only. The Ticket Booth opens at 8:00 a.m. - Monday through Friday, and closes when all tickets have been distributed. Lines form early and tickets go quickly, most days’ tickets are gone by 9:00 a.m. Please plan accordingly.
PUBLIC TOURS - NON-PEAK SEASON - OCTOBER THROUGH FEBRUARY - NO TICKETS REQUIRED
You may line up at the Visitors’ Entrance on 14th Street. Please allow 45 – 50 minutes from the time you enter the building until the end of your tour.
Public Tour: 9:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. & 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m.(every 15 minutes)
Extended Summer Hours (MAY-AUG): 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (every 15 minutes)
Congressional Tour: 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
Extended Summer Hours (MAY-AUG): 4:00, 4:15, 4:30 and 4:45 p.m.
School Group Tours (RESERVATIONS REQUIRED): 11:00 a.m. – 12:15 a.m. (every 15 minutes) (50 people max per tour)

The Diplomatic Reception Rooms of the Department of State, which are used for official functions hosted by the Secretary of State and other high level government officials, are open for pre-arranged tours at no charge. These rooms hold a premier collection of 18th Century American Furniture, paintings and decorative arts.
Guided tours are conducted Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Tours are 45 minutes in duration. Reservations are required and should be made approximately four weeks in advance, due to the large volume of requests.
This is a Fine Arts tour. We do not recommend the tour for children under the age of twelve. Wheelchairs are available but strollers are not permitted, and there are no facilities for storage of personal belongings.

Free tours of the Kennedy Center are given by the Friends of the Kennedy Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. They depart from the parking plaza on Level A, and feature the Hall of States and Hall of Nations, the Center's main theaters, and dozens of paintings, sculptures, and other artworks given to the Center by foreign countries. Mount Vernon is open seven days a week, every day of the year, including holidays and Christmas.
Forty-five acres of the estate are open to the public. A spectacular view of the Potomac River from the Mansion's piazza transports visitors back in time. Four gardens showcase heirloom plants known to have been at Mount Vernon in the late 1700s. Washington himself designed the landscape which includes 13 trees that stand today as the last living witnesses of Washington's lifetime.
Children love the George Washington: Pioneer Farmer exhibition, a four-acre demonstration farm that features a recreation of Washington's 16-sided treading barn. The "Hands-on History Exhibit," presented May 29 - September 6 is full of interactive games and activities for children of all ages.
Mount Vernon welcomes visitors on the following schedule:
April through August, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
March, September, and October, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
November through February, 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Grounds are cleared one-half hour after closing.
