My office is always accepting resumes from college students interested in interning for academic credit. An internship provides an excellent opportunity for young men and women to expand their knowledge of our government system, while assisting members of my staff with their daily responsibilities.

By assisting my district staff, interns have the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge about how a district Congressional office provides constituent services and interacts with the community.

Interns in my Washington, D.C. office have an opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the federal government by working closely with my legislative staff.

Summer Interns in my Washington, DC office receive a $200 per week stipend and, although no housing is provided, we do have information on housing in the Washington, DC area. All other internships are unpaid.

My internship program is open to all area college students, regardless of major. Ideal candidates are students who have completed at least their second year of college, have a keen interest in government, and are willing to work long hours.

To begin the application process, send a resume with a cover letter, a brief (1-2 page) writing sample, and 2 letters of recommendation to Michael Calvo in my Washington, DC office.
