Hoyer on House Passage of A-76 Amendment

Hoyer (D-MD) today applauded the House of Representatives for reauthorizing an important provision in the FY 2007 Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development Act to restore fairness for federal employees to the flawed OMB Circular A-76 privatization process. Hoyer Restores Funding for 2 BARC Facilities, Several Critical Research Programs
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD) announced that the House of Representatives today passed the Agriculture Appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2007, which includes over $10 million for the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC). At Hoyer’s request, the bill included full funding for both the Phytonutrients ($2.6 million) and Fruit ($3.1 million) labs, rejecting President Bush’s proposal to close these research facilities.
