During his October 23rd visit to East-Central Minnesota, Senator Coleman attended a listening session with local leaders at People’s Café in Cambridge.  Coleman has hosted several of these local listening sessions to hear local concerns during his visits to 75 of Minnesota’s 87 counties this year

On Monday, October 23rd, Senator Coleman toured Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, where he toured the facility, met with hospital staff and heard from area officials.   The stop was a part of Coleman’s visit to the east-central Minnesota counties of Isanti, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Pine and Chisago Counties.  The senator has now visited 75 of Minnesota’s 87 counties during 2006

During a visit to southern Minnesota on October 16th, Senator Norm Coleman received the “Friend of the Farmer” award from the Minnesota Farm Bureau during a stop in New Ulm. The award is given to legislators who have supported Farm Bureau priority issues such as energy, taxes, trade, animal agriculture and regulatory issues.

 On Thursday, October 12th, Senator Coleman visited Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, which recently completed a $52 million renovation project, during a visit to the west-central Minnesota counties of Douglas, Pope and Kandiyohi.  Coleman has now personally visited 68 of Minnesota’s 87 counties during 2006, including stops at several rural hospitals across the state.

On Thursday, October 12th, Senator Coleman visited Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria during a trip to the west-central Minnesota counties of Douglas, Pope and Kandiyohi.  Coleman has now personally visited 68 of Minnesota’s 87 counties during 2006.

On October 4th, Senator Norm Coleman attended an Eaton Corporation event to showcase the world’s first hydraulic hybrid UPS delivery truck. Located in Eden Prairie, Eaton and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have developed hydraulic hybrid diesel technology that achieves 50-70 percent better fuel efficiency in urban driving and lowers greenhouse gas emissions by roughly 40 percent compared to a conventional UPS diesel-powered delivery truck, according to EPA estimates. The EPA is also estimates that a typical fleet owner operating one of these high-efficiency hydraulic powertrains would save up to 1,000 gallons of fuel each year per truck.

On October 4, Senator Norm Coleman and U.S. Small Business Administrator Steven C. Preston toured the Global Market in Minneapolis and participated in a townhall meeting with members of Minnesota’s diverse small business community to discuss the impact SBA programs have had on the Minnesota economic development climate. As part of  Preston's visit to Minnesota at Coleman’s invitation, they began the day by addressing the 11th Annual Minnesota Development Conference: Accelerating Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
