During a fact-finding trip to the Southwest border to examine border security operations, Senator Norm Coleman had a breakfast with soldiers from Minnesota soldiers based in Fort Huachuca, AZ. While at Fort Huachuca, Senator Coleman observed UAV planes used for border security.

During a fact-finding trip to the Southwest border to examine border security operations, Senator Norm Coleman observed vehicles crossing the border through the Port Of Entry at San Ysidro in San Diego with with Adele Fasano, Director of Field Operations. The San Ysidro POE has 37 vehicle lanes, 20 pedestrian lanes, 5 trusted traveler lanes which are open 24 hours a day.

During a fact-finding trip to the Southwest border to examine border security operations, Senators Norm Coleman (R-MN) and Johnny Isakson (R-GA) were briefed by James Hynes, Director of the Port of Entry at San Ysidro in San Diego on procedures for car searches. San Ysidro is the largest Port of Entry in the world.

During a fact-finding trip to the Southwest border to examine border security operations, Senators Norm Coleman (R-MN) and Johnny Isakson (R-GA) visit “Smugglers Gulch” in at the San Diego border. This is a hot-spot for smugglers because of the terrain and the fact that there are high-population areas on both sides of the border. In this picture, they are being briefed by Customs and Border Patrol Officer Michael Hance on plans for the Border Infrastructure System, which is a 14 mile system of roads and fences along the border in the vicinity of San Diego.
