On May 18, Senator Coleman met with California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown to discuss her nomination to the D.C. Circuit Court. On May 18, Senator Coleman met with Chinese Ambassador Zhou Wenzhong to discuss the mutual benefits of updating student visas used by Chinese and American students when studying abroad. Currently, most Chinese and American students can only enter the other country once on their visas, and they have to go home at the end of each year to renew them, creating unnecessary bureaucratic delays and tough choices for students facing family emergencies back home. Ambassador Zhou presented Coleman with a letter from Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing expressing hope that the issue will be resolved in the near future. China is the second largest country of origin for international students studying in the U.S. and the twelfth most popular destination for American students studying abroad.
