Welcome
to Darke County, a vibrant, growing community which
offers its residents the unique opportunity to enjoy
small town community life within easy access of major
metropolitan areas.
Our citizens
enjoy local cultural and art events through organizations
such as the Darke County Center for the Arts and Civic
Theatre, but can also easily travel to museums in Dayton,
Columbus, Cincinnati, Toledo and Indianapolis.
Darke Countians enjoy sports teams such as the Cincinnati
Reds and Bengals and the Dayton Dragons minor league
baseball team.
Because
of its geographic location, Darke County is within a
90-minute air market for 55% of the population of the
United States. Darke County plays a vital role
in the success of the Miami Valley: historically, culturally
and economically. We are home to a diversified
industrial base, including Whirlpool Corp., BASF and
Honeywell.
Enjoy your
on-line tour of Darke County via the Chamber, Economic
Development and Visitors Bureau sites.
