Fiscal Responsibility
I continue to believe that hard working Americans currently pay too much of their income in taxes and therefore, I prefer the option of having the federal government be more fiscally responsible. In order to ensure economic growth for the future, it is important that Congress become vigilant against deficit spending. I am committed to doing my part. We will only sustain economic prosperity and fiscal responsibility by controlling spending and limiting the growth of the federal government. This fiscal discipline will help us meet the challenges of the coming century as we strive to achieve economic growth and job creation. Fiscal responsibility should also guide our fight to strengthen Social Security for current and future generations, in our efforts to reduce the tax burden on hard working Americans and as we pay down the national debt.
