Wyoming is home to two outstanding National Parks, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. These parks are two of the crown jewels in our nation's park system. As Chairman of the Senate Energy Committee's Subcommittee on Parks, Historic Preservation and Recreation, I worked to protect these national treasures so that they can be enjoyed by folks long into the future. In fact, in 1998, my bill, the "Vision 2020 Parks Bill" was signed into law. This measure is the first piece of legislation to reform the Park Service in over 20 years. This legislation will ensure that our National Parks have the resources and the management tools they need to prosper in the new century. In addition, I've worked to increase road funding for Yellowstone by 75 percent to $14 million per year. This funding, will ensure that the 3 million annual visitors to the park can enjoy their experience without the bumper to bumper traffic that too often plagues this national treasure.
