WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Diana DeGette (D-CO) released the following statement regarding tomorrow’s Shattuck Superfund Site Completion Celebration:
“Today, we close the books on the Shattuck Superfund Site, one of the first challenges I tackled when I went to Congress. This is a great day for the people of Overland Park, community activists and for the City of Denver.
“Closing this superfund site is a direct result of the incredible community involvement and tenacity of the residents of Overland Park and other activists. They worked together to ensure that the waste was removed and that the area was opened for redevelopment. This is an accomplishment we can all be proud of.”
