Fayston residents urged the planning commission to consider the long view on development during public hearings this week for two proposed subdivisions.
"The time is now to take a look at the bigger picture," said Marge Keough during the second hearing on Tuesday, November 7. "We as a community...need to take a time out and take a look at these bigger issues."

Quinones passes Ski and Skate sale torch to Hammond
The Waitsfield PTA celebrates stick season this weekend with the traditional take-over of the school and a focus on gear, gear, gear at the annual Ski and Skate Sale. And though much about this tradition remains the same, some big changes have taken place behind the scenes. Volunteers will no longer hear "Ask Loopy! Where's Loopy? Oh...that's a question for Loopy!" Indeed, Loopy Quinones, the woman who has run the sale and had all the answers for the last 25 years has passed the torch.

Voters approve Harwood wood chip heating facility |

Voters overwhelmingly approved construction of a wood chip heating facility at Harwood Union High School.
The vote on the November 7 ballot initiative-with 4,282 residents in favor and 1,931 opposed-allows the school to sell $1.68 million in bonds to fund the project, while taking advantage of a state program that should make the impact on local taxpayers negligible.
