Students show strong support for school

WILMINGTON- While Wilmington voters were filing into the school gymnasium to cast their ballots Tuesday morning, Twin Valley High School students were holding a referendum of their own.

The issue on their ballot: the future of their school. Students were asked to weigh in on whether the Twin Valley joint contract should be dissolved, and the two schools separated. When the final tally was in, 162 students participated in the schoolwide Australian ballot. By a wide margin, 143 to 18 (with one “spoiled” ballot), students signaled their desire to maintain the Twin Valley School District in its current configuration.

WHITINGHAM- Twin Valley parents and Whitingham voters may not be ready to dissolve the joint contract that combines Whitingham and Wilmington’s middle and high schools, if reaction at Wednesday evening’s school choice informational meeting is any indication. .
