Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-California) serves on Judiciary Committee, its Subcommittee on Courts, the Internet, and Intellectual Property and its Subcommittee on Immigration and Claims.

She also serves on the Science Committee, its Subcommittee on Space and Aeronautics and its Subcommittee on Energy and Environment. She also serves on the Homeland Security Committee and its Subcommittee on Rules.

First elected to Congress in 1994, Lofgren has focused on improving education, preserving natural resources, encouraging innovation in commerce and the arts, expanding health care and developing new technologies and energy sources to fuel our economy. She has worked to increase funding for scientific research and restore funding for public education programs, develop balanced copyright laws, create a prescription drug coverage plan for seniors, invest in fusion as a long-term energy source and expand Internet access for schools, libraries, and rural health centers.

Before her election to Congress, Lofgren worked as a congressional aide, taught law at the University of Santa Clara, practiced immigration law as a partner in the firm of Webber & Lofgren and served 13 years on her local board of supervisors.
