Congressman Jay Inslee (D-Washington) serves on the Resources Committee, its Subcommittee on Water and Power and its Subcommittee on Forests and Forest Health, where he is Ranking Member.

He also serves on the Financial Services Committee, its Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Insurance and Government Sponsored Enterprises and its Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

First elected to represent the First Congressional District in 1998, Inslee has focused on protecting our financial and medical privacy, preserving our clean air and water, and advocating for clean energy technologies.  Inslee has written successful legislation to help consumers benefit from the creative and dynamic computer and biotech industries, and he actively supports the many aerospace workers in his district. 

Inslee served one term representing Washington's 4th District from 1993 to 1995 before returning to the House in 1999. He also worked as a Regional Director of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, practiced law and spent four years in the Washington State House of Representatives.
