Hoyer Announces Southern Maryland Waterways to Benefit from Federal Funds
WASHINGTON - Congressman Steny Hoyer announced that the House of Representatives today included $85,000 to study the feasibility of improving the navigability of St. Jerome Creek, and $250,000 for the construction of a stone revetment at Herring Creek and Tall Timbers in the Fiscal Year 2004 Energy and Water funding bill. This funding was included in the bill at Hoyer's request.

Hoyer Succeeds in Funding Firefighter Program
WASHINGTON - Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and Congressman Curt Weldon (R-PA), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus last night successfully added an amendment to the 2005 Homeland Security Appropriations bill to provide $50 million in funding for the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Firefighters (SAFER) Program. Congressman Hoyer is a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee.

Congressman Hoyer Secures Federal Funds for
WASHINGTON - Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) today announced that $1.5 million was included in the fiscal year 2005 Interior Appropriations bill for the Chesapeake Bay Gateways Network Grants. A wide variety of projects and programs throughout Maryland's 5th Congressional District have benefited from this grant program since its creation by Congress in 1998. Congressman Hoyer is the only U.S. Representative from Maryland on the House Appropriations Committee.
