WASHINGTON, DC Representatives Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Frank Wolf (R-VA), Tom Davis (R-VA), Jim Moran (D-VA), Albert Wynn (D-MD), and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) released the following joint statement today announcing that at their request, the FY 2006 Transportation, Treasury, and Housing and Urban Development, the Judiciary, District of Columbia Appropriations Conference Report, approved by the House of Representatives today, included $1,300,000 in federal funds for the Capital Area Food Bank.

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) released the following statement today applauding the inclusion of a 3.1 percent pay adjustment for federal employees in the FY 2006 Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Conference Report. This provision provides civilian federal employees and military employees with the same pay adjustment, following a long-standing Congressional principle known as "pay parity." The House passed the conference report today.

Congressman Steny Hoyer (D-MD) announced that the FY 2006 Transportation, Treasury, Housing and Urban Development, the Judiciary, and District of Columbia Appropriations conference report, passed by the House of Representatives today, includes $127.6 million for the next phase of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) consolidation at White Oak, Maryland. It is the largest single year appropriation in the seven-year history of the project.
