» Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions (HELP)
HELP deals with wide-ranging issues from improving education to expanding affordable access to quality health care and protecting workers and their pensions.
» Subcommittee on Bioterrorism and Public Health Preparedness
  Senator Burr is the chairman of HELP's Subcommittee on Bioterrorism and Public Health Preparedness. The Bioterrorism and Public Health Preparedness Subcommittee has responsibility over a range of bioterrorism and public health issues related to: the research and development of safe and effective medical countermeasures against infectious diseases; biological, chemical and radiological agents under the BIOSHIELD Act; the role of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in assisting state and local authoroties in preparing for bioterrorist attacks; and coordination between federal agencies involved in our country’s biodefense.
 
» Committee on Energy & Natural Resources
The Committee on Energy & Natural Resources deals with energy resources and development, including regulation, conservation, strategic petroleum reserves and appliance standards; nuclear energy; public lands and their renewable resources; surface mining, Federal coal, oil, and gas, other mineral leasing; territories and insular possessions; and water resources.

  Senator Burr is the Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy, which has legislative responsibilities for nuclear, coal and synthetic fuels research and development; nuclear and non-nuclear energy commercialization projects; nuclear fuel cycle policy; DOE National Laboratories; global climate change; new technologies research and development; nuclear facilities siting and insurance program; commercialization of new technologies including, solar energy systems; Federal energy conservation programs; energy information; liquefied natural gas projects; oil and natural gas regulation; refinery policy; coal conversion; utility policy; strategic petroleum reserves; regulation of Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and other oil and gas pipeline transportation systems within Alaska Artic research and energy development; and oil, gas and coal production and distribution.
 
» Committee on Veterans Affairs
The Committee on Veterans Affairs reviews programs and agencies for veterans, examines current laws impacting veterans, and develops legislation to improve existing laws concerning veterans.
» Committee on Indian Affairs
The Committee on Indian Affairs studies the condition of American Indian, Native Hawaiian and Alaska Native peoples: Indian education, economic development, land management, trust responsibilities, health care and claims against the United States.
