(Washington, DC) - Congresswoman Corrine Brown made the following statement:
“I am extremely pleased with the results of the mid term elections. Today, with the Senate headed towards a Democratic majority as well as the House, the American people have made it clear that they crave a new direction in Washington. They are tired of the administration’s failed policies, particularly with respect to Iraq and the economy, and demonstrated this with their vote.
I can assure my constituents in Florida’s third district that I will be working closely with the Democratic leadership to implement the Party’s goals, namely, to enact the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission to secure our nation, to raise the federal minimum wage, to make health care and prescription drugs more affordable, to move our nation toward energy independence, cut college costs, and restore fiscal responsibility.”
