Goal / Description:

I. Homeland Security Task Force Statement of Purpose:

To present to the American people and communicate to the world a positive vision and agenda for a Constitutionally secure, stable and prosperous United States of America in the wake of the vicious terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

II. Homeland Security Task Force Statement of Principles

Initiate and implement all necessary and appropriate measures to ensure that:

In the American homeland, the horrific events of September 11 will never happen again. Americans will be free from all forms of terrorism.  Americans feel confident that they can safely fly.  Americans feel confident they can safely engage in all forms of travel: whether by train, auto,public transit or maritime.  America's diplomatic, military and intelligence services and law enforcement community have the necessary and appropriate resources and flexibility they need to prepare and respond effectively to the new threat environment.  All of America's government agencies should have the necessary and appropriate resources to effectively collaborate and contribute to the safety and well being of the American people.  America's commercial activities and financial services remain vigorous and unimpeded.  America's workers are able to maintain their dignity and support their families in the midst of an economic slowdown. The precious freedoms granted in the United States Constitution will be secured for generations of Americans to come.
