World War II Memorial
The Memorial is now open for public viewing and serves as a tribute to members of the World War II Generation. The World War II Memorial is the first national memorial dedicated to all who served during the Second World War and is the only 20th-century event commemorated on the Mall's central axis. This Memorial is long overdue for our veterans. I am grateful that we finally have this Memorial that is dedicated to those who sacrificed so much to keep this country free. Please visit the National Park Service website for information about the visitors center or visit The World War II Memorial to learn more about the memorial.
