[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) today issued the following statement after the announcement that former Quincy Mayor Chuck Scholz is withdrawing from the race for the 93rd District General Assembly seat:

“I have known Chuck Scholz for more than 25 years. He is a good friend and has been a tremendous ally. Chuck has an important battle to win before he can return to public service. I respect the very tough decision he has made today.”
