Lafayette, LA – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr. today issued the following statement after Bob Ney pled guilty to violating federal law:

 

“Members of Congress are given the trust of the people who elect them to office.  Bob Ney not only broke that trust, he betrayed his oath of office by committing indefensible criminal actions.  For this, he will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.  Bob Ney should resign from Congress immediately.  If he does not, Congress should move to expel him from office.”
